Thoughts of a Little Blue Bear – Dust Bunnies

I would like to get your thoughts on Dust Bunnies. You know those clumps of fluff that form down the back of furniture.

Dust bunnies (or dustbunnies), also called dust mice, are small clumps of dust that form under furniture and in corners that are not cleaned regularly. They are made of hair, lint, dead skin, spider webs, dust, and sometimes light rubbish and debris,
As a bear who is sometimes, accidentally, relocated down the sides of various bits of furniture, I have come across a fair few in my time and it always amazes me that small bits of fluff can collect into such giant structures.
OK, for you big people they may not seem that giant but when your only 12″ tall then things seem much bigger. Only the other day I was down the back of the bed and there was one there that look like the structure in front of the London Olympic Stadium.
The more interesting thing is what makes them collect, is there some dust bunny engineer in every house with a bag collecting bits of dust and bolting them together to create the structures we see. Maybe it is an ancient craft that has been passed from tiny father to tiny son
I started researching dust bunnies and was amazed what I found out
- Dust Bunny appreciation day is the 8th March
- Philosophers and theologians who rarely agree on anything including why homo sapiens exist, suggest that dust bunnies owe their existence to Adam and Eve’s first feast and frolicking about in the hollyfuds in the Garden of Eden and an unfortunate encounter with a nasty serpent hidden in a barrel of apples that they were bobbing for; all of which meant that Eve was pressed for time and simply shoved the specks from their snack under the rug since thank heavens, dustbusters had not yet been invented.
- Dust bunnies are magnet munchkins who work diligently to gather dust that tends to accumulate on shelves and bookcases, in cupboards and in corners.
- Dustbunnies like to use stereo-systems as their own personal Singles Clubs. Dancing usually takes place on the older models with a LP turntable, as the laser show of the CD drives have been linked to Fur Cancer in studies conducted at DBU.
- Dust Bunnies will find their own food. They have a tendency to turn vegetarian – if you do not wish them to eat your houseplants you may wish to gently wipe them off the leaves with a gentle but firm “no”.

Kiff there is no way that is happening, I don’t have fingers how am I going to pick up fluff.
My good friend the black bird tells me it makes great nest lining material and sometimes contains a free snack as well

While I can see the benefits of free snacks for Blacky knowing what he eats those little mights are kind of a health hazard for a teddy filled with fluff.
