Bear in the Air – Scouting

Hello Dear Reader

Ok I have  question for you all??

Have you seen this

On Saturday Chief Scout Bear Grylls begins the first stage in his mission to visit Scouts across the whole of the UK over the next five years.

He will be flying by helicopter to visit 24 events across Yorkshire and the north-east of England over this bank holiday weekend.

Full Story can be found here <CLICKY>

Ok now I did a bit of research

Approximate cost  of chartering a helicopter is £1200.00 per hour, so if we say it is an 8 hour day that is a total cost of £9600.00

Image taken from Scout Association Flickr

The helicopter has had scouting graphics on the outside for argument’s sake lest say £900.00

Total cost is £10500.00

My question is, is it worth it?

Is Bear in the Air a Good Use of Scouting Money

Polls

Hello Dear Reader

I have added a poll widget to my side bar, I had used the first poll to get to know a bit of scouting background about my readers.

I have tired to make it span the globe but if you award is not there I am sorry, I have tried to put the highest Cub, Scout, Explorer and Network and their  US equlivant.

Please take a moment to complete it
