I came across this video from China the other day, it is an environmentally friendly message making a green pedestrian crossing. It is a from 2010 but still the message it promotes and the way it does it are worth sharing.
We have all seen the 50 things to do before your…. list, however I came across this new one from the National Trust. – I have done 48 of the 50 how many have you done.
Mwahahahaha was the sound that was heard bouncing around the Motorway as the traffic started to back up.
I have and I have always thought about it as being around the adult support, being able to offer adults who work on shifts or could only give their support one weekend a month the opportunity to support the movement.
<The car swerves across the road> Drat that was 126 not 26 <Driver thinks I really should pay more attention to the road> -0000- I am wondering if people have any good traveling games, I don’t mean like travel twister I mean car or train games. I currently undertake a 170 mile journey every monday morning and every Friday evening as I cross the country from Gloucestershire to Essex and back. I have recently been playing a couple of number plate games to help pass the time. have seen this a couple of time and been a culprit of it as well. You speak to a GSL or DC/ADC and they say “how are things going” you respond with “yes they are going well, we could do with more leaders but who couldn’t”
This is not you asking for help people will see this as a stock response or as a joke to break the tension.
If you struggling say so, ok maybe not
“Well, I am on my own, I have not seen the GSL for months, the young people have toasted marshmallows on sticks for the last I don’t know how many meetings, my wife is about to leave me I am going to get fired because I spend more time photocopying permission forms than working, oh and if I have not had two double vodkas by 10:00 I can’t cope with the day”

Sometimes combining the two items does not always work. However this Thursday we seemed to get it right. I tried something a little different. Gave each patrol leader a marker pen and a pad of large post-it notes (called Meeting Notes), then on three of the four Walls of the scout hut, in chalk, I wrote Activity, Camp and Scout skill.
